What I learned in KC

What I learned in KC...

I was told by a Canadian that I sound like Dan Aykroyd. That's a compliment in my mind.

BBQ in Kansas City is good, but no where near as good as other mecca's like Memphis, North Carolina or Texas.

Frogs can't swallow with their eyes open.

Always check your toiletries before you leave home. That way you don't end up bringing an empty can of shaving cream and don't run out of toothpaste after the first day.

The people in my industry are quite possibly the best people in the world... and definitely the most fun.

Karen gave me an award while I was gone. Check her out and make an appointment to get your hair done.

I'm more convinced than ever that I need to leave my current employer to save myself mentally and physically.

Blottie... you need to look here.

I'm tired and still on Central Time so I'm going to bed.

Dan Aykroyd, so I guess that means you're on a mission from God.

I'm sad that KC bbq doesn't hold up. Well, that's one place I now don't need to go. I feel NC has the best stuff.

I'm sure it's both relieving and a little intimidating to realize you need to leave your current job.

Aww, thanks for the shout out. I'm glad you had a good time, and that frog swallowing thing is pretty valuable information, so thanks for passing it along! ;)

BBQ in eastern North Carolina is the best!

My wife is originally from Texas and we now live in Arkansas, but she always wants to take a trip to North Carolina so that we can "get some of that meat."

I am a little curious as to what was going on when you learned that fact about frogs...

Hey Bob!

Welcome back to insanity! We missed you! I hope you didn't mind that I went a little crazy on your blog...I'm sorry. You can go crazy on my blog if you want to pay me back.

Now that you mention it, you do remind me of Dan Aykroyd...only I think you are cuter than he is.

And thanks for the frog fact. I may need that someday.

XOXO
RC

Welcome home Bob!!!

The "Girls" kept things interesting while you were away!!

I agree about North Carolina BBQ being the best.

Hope you get some rest...

Dear Bob,

Obviously, I REFUSE to discuss BBQ, unless you're BBQing veggies. Did you hear about that study out of Oxford the other day (regarding vegetarians)? If not, I'll give you the jist of it when I stop by again. No wonder I can't think straight half the time!

Love the frog fact. Love frogs as you know. Have you seen my little frog pond? Precious.

That pink trenchcoat link nearly killed me! "RC, what the hell were we Googling? Bob is so much better at this than we are!" Okay, 1st row, 4 across. STUNNING! Oh the trenchcoat isn't bad either. No seriously, that's my trenchcoat. Unfortunately Aishwarya Rai is wearing it while filming Pink Pather 2. Perhaps she'll let me borrow because when I walk or ride into the Cafe, that's how I see myself, but not with those heels. I prefer black slingbacks. I also love the Burberry, 3rd row, 2 across (feel as if I'm doing a crossword puzzle). Gorgeous. What's that going to cost me? $500? $600? Just so you know, I don't like leather or faux leather. I like simple, light cotton. So when I walk or ride into the Cafe from now on, that's what I'm wearing. Dammit!

Did you notice IV tried to kill me with that slide? Hey! I've reported him to the proper authorities.

Work. I love what princessb wrote. "I'm sure it's both relieving and a little intimidating to realize you need to leave your current job." You bet it is!!! So, when the hell you leavin' baby?

I'm up late. Insomnia for the first time is some time. Ugh. Ahhhhhhhhhhh the crappiness of it. But Dr. P gave me wonderful advice during our last visit. "Don't follow the clock, just use your time wisely." So I'll blog till I fall asleep. I should also mention I LOVE Dr. P. She's a few years younger, Asian (very Zen) and has the bedside manner of a Saint. She held my head in her hands and said "Suzanne, please be gentle with yourself." I'm trying Dr. P, I'm trying.

Yes Bob, I know I'm ramblin' but just know I'm happy doing so on you're amazing blog. So glad you're back because where RC and I fail, you succeed!!!

Love ya,
Blottie XO

Welcome back home. The only thing I learned in KC is that the Royals suck and I am glad I was born in St. Louis.

Hillbilly Willy is the best BBQ around these parts. Just outside Chattanooga.

I'll give Memphis a thumbs up for some grub too.

Central time sucks.

It doen't matter, Arkansas got their asses kicked by Alabama anyway. Florida kicked the shit out of Tennessee, and LSU, just barley scraped over Auburn. Georga beat up on Arizona St. and Wake Forrest spanked Florida State. That all that I saw yesterday, but I'll be watching NFL today, so I'll give you a recap on it tomorrow.
