That should have been my idea

Because I follow Megarific everywhere (semi-stalker like), I'll do the same meme that's over on her blog. The idea is to list the movie, song, candy, and invention you wished you had thought up before anyone else. So, without further ado, here is my list:

Movie: Blazing Saddles
I only could wish to be half as brilliant as Mel Brooks. This is definitely not one of the most intellectual films you will ever see, but for my money it is one of the funniest. It is non-stop laughs from the beginning to the final credits. "More beans Mr. Taggert? I think you boys have had enough."

Song: That Was A Crazy Game of Poker
This is the top two most played songs on my iPod... both the album version and live version from Madison Square Garden. It never fails to make me smile and put a bounce in my step. There really isn't a good version on you tube, but this one is the best I could find.

Candy: Snickers
It's chocolate, it's peanuts, it's caramel, it's nouget, it's perfect.

Oh wait, it's almonds now too. This one might be even better than perfect.

Invention: Baconnaise
What more could you possibly ask for as a sandwich topper? The creamy moist goodness of mayonnaise combined with the greatness of bacon flavor. When you are "on the go" and don't have time to fry up a batch of bacon, slather on a healthy amount of baconnaise and you have an instant club sandwich!

Oh damn. Blazing Saddles. One of the best films of all time!!! My sisters and I died watching this film.

Okay, it's official, I actually know this film way too well. Here are my favorite quotes. My memory isn't perfect, so work with me:

1. Lili von Shtupp ~ "Hello, handsome, is that a ten-gallon hat or are you just enjoying the show?"

2. Mexican Bandit ~ "Badges? We don't need no sticking badges.

3. Charlie: They said you was hung.

Bart: And they was right.

I'll stop. Oh God, I could go on.

But please, my dear man, don't stop at Blazing Saddles, there's Young Frankenstein!

I will have to listen to That Was A Crazy Game of Poker. It's late, the kitties and T-Bone are sleeping and I'd hate to wake them.

You know me, I'm not a candy person, but I'll tell you something funny. Rob's a Snicker's guy too, but it has to be frozen. Why? Who the hell knows. It's a Rob/Bob thing.

I'll tell you something even funnier. My darling mom, sister and niece attended a Jo Dee Messina concert last night and had a blast. (She's a country music star and I'm not a country music fan, but always appreciate my family's adventures.) Jo Dee is a hoot. She had so much fun with the crowd and she's from Boston and of course a HUGE Red Sox fan. So my niece, an athlete and Yankees fan asked at the end of the concert, "Gram, can we find her tour bus?" Gram said "yes," and my sister said "Show me the way Mom!" And off they went. They found it, stopped and talked to an assistant who was taking her baby to her. My niece rolled down the window and said "Please tell Jo Dee the Yankees are leading the Red Sox." He laughed so hard and said "You have just made my evening a living hell!" My niece replied "Well, I'm not saying they're gonna win!" And they didn't as you probably know.

That's my family in a nutshell. Bunch-a-wise-asses.

Love you darling. Great post.

XO ;)

Yay Mel Brooks, yay Snickers, and I have a serious curiousity about baconnaise. Should we try it?

Annie... yes they do!

Kylie... more satisfying like ice cream?

Megan... that's not really a good clip either. OAR is a great live band.

Suzy... Somebody better go back and get a shitload of dimes!

Leah... I've never tried Baconnaise but I'd like to as well!

I'll see your snickers and raise you a Milky Way. There's too much going on in that candy bar. ;-)
